Asst. Prof. Denis Vaz joined the Department of Konkani at Rosary College in the year 2012. His areas of expertise are Linguistics (Dialectology), History of Konkani Language & Literature and Critics & Criticism. He has presented research papers and contributed chapters as well as prefaces for books on various topics. He has also contributed to the People’s Linguistic Survey of India (Volume Eight, Part Two) – The Languages of Goa. He was appreciated by the Bhasha Research and Publication Center, Gujarat, for contributing to the “Goa Volume of People’s Linguistic Survey of India”. He is the resource person for “Compiling & Publishing the Konkani Thesaurus” undertaken by Mangalore University.

He Has completed Bachelor’s Degree in Konkani with Distinction at St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa in the year 2010. He passed his Master’s Degree in Konkani and was awarded a Gold Medal at Goa University in the year 2012. He passed his NET in the year 2016. He has worked as an Asst. Professor in Konkani at St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa for four years. He is an Awardee of the Dalgado Youth Award of Dalgado Konkani Akademy (2011) & Goykar Youth Award of Goykar. He is a regular contributor of the ‘Gulab’ a monthly Magazine, under the title “Kantarantlem Kantar” – a critical study on the songs of Chris Perry. Currently pursuing Ph.D. at the Goa University on the Topic “Kristanv Somazantlim Vers Lokgitam – Ek Chikitsok Abh’bheas.”

Asst. Prof. Sansico Dias joined the Department of Konkani at Rosary College in the year 2020. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Konkani and Sociology in 2015 and M.A. in Konkani from Goa University in the year 2017. He worked in Government College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, Sanquelim, and Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Quepem. He has presented research papers on ‘Tiatr: Goan Society’ at the National level Seminar. He also attended many state and national seminars and workshops. He likes to write short stories and poems and loves to read novels.

Ms. Asha S. Gaonkar joined the Department of Konkani in the year 2023. She has successfully passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) examination. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Konkani and History in 2015, followed by a Master’s degree in Konkani from Goa University in 2017. Additionally, she earned her Bachelor of Education degree in 2019. Prior to joining Rosary College, she owned one year of teaching experience at the undergraduate level at Govt. College of Arts, Science, and Commerce, Qupem-Goa. Furthermore, she possesses one year of teaching experience at the higher secondary level, having served as a Teacher Grade I at both Shree Mallikarjun Higher Secondary School, Canacona, Goa and St. Theresa of Jesus Higher Secondary School, Canacona, Goa.

Miss. Vinita Velip began her teaching Career in the academic year 2021-2022 at Rosary College of Commerce and Arts Navelim. She completed her Bachelor Degree in 2019, Graduating as the topper of her college. In 2021 she completed her Masters in MA in Konkani. With passion for the language, she made significant contribution through her teaching and writings. Apart from this she is interested in Acting field. She aims to inspire and educate students about the richness of the Konkani language and its Literature.

Ms. Elvira Sequeira completed BA at Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim, Master’s Degree at Goa University in Konkani and B.Ed at Nirmala Institute of Education. She has one year teaching experience at Carmel Higher secondary school and 4 years at Rosary College of Commerce and Arts. She also publish poems on konkani newspaper Bhangarbhui and some articles on church bulletin.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Konkani from Carmel College of Arts, Science & Commerce for Women, Nuvem (2022), a Master of Arts in Konkani from Goa University, Taleigao (2024), and a Bachelor of Education from Nirmala Institute of Education, Altinho, Panjim (2026). She gained valuable teaching experience as a Teacher Trainee at Fatima Convent High School, Margao, and has qualified the Goa Teachers Eligibility Test (GTET) 2025 (Paper II). Her academic interests focus on Konkani language, literature, and culture, with research contributions including her M.A. dissertation titled “Sashti Vãttãrãntlea Mukhel Festãncho Sonskrutik Ani Samajik Abhyas” and her undergraduate research on “Fugdi Hea Loknachacho Abhyas.” She also has a keen interest in theatre and stage performance. In recognition of her academic excellence, she received the State Level Award for securing the Highest Marks in Konkani at the B.A. level from Konkani Bhasha Mandal in 2023.

She began her teaching career during the academic year 2025–2026 at Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim, Goa. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree with a Double Major in Hindi and Marathi in 2023 and earned her Master of Arts (M.A.) in Hindi in 2025. With a keen interest in Hindi language and literature, she is committed to creating an engaging learning environment that nurtures students’ linguistic abilities, literary appreciation, and critical thinking. As a young educator, Ms. Raikar strives to inspire students by fostering a deeper understanding of the richness, cultural heritage, and contemporary relevance of Hindi literature.
