Geography – the study of the Earth and its lands, features, inhabitants, and phenomena. The Department of Geography provides rich resources, books and has been using technology to provide matter to the students. The students of the department are offered different papers at the FYBA, B.Com, BCA and SYBA.
Objectives
- To create awareness about nature and its resources.
- To conscientize the students about the various environmental problems.
- To create an awareness that man is a part and parcel of nature and degradation of the same will never be beneficial to man in the long run.
- To motivate the students, to adopt various measures to protect the earth.

Ms. Smita Naik Fernandes has been a part of various academic and non-academic committees of the college. She was actively involved in the conduct of the Green Audit of the college during the Academic year 2013-14. She also played an active role in setting up the vermi-composting unit and Rev. Can. Jose Roberto Vaz Greenhouse in the College campus. She has been actively involved in organizing seminars and workshops on environment related issues. Apart from teaching her interests are reading, mentoring students, and watching documentaries on National Geographic Channel and Animal Planet.

Ms. Radhika Jayshankar Pandey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography. She has participated in several National and International seminars; and presented research papers. Has actively been part of NSS and represented the State of Goa as a NSS Officer at NIC Camp held at Jharkhand in May 2022.Currently pursuing Ph.D at Goa University in Agriculture Geography. Besides teaching, she likes reading, traveling and sports.

Ms. Lerissa Asucena D’Costa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography. She joined Rosary College in 2018. She has participated and presented papers at International. National and State Level Conferences. She has been a part of an Academic Exchange Programme at University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka in 2014. Besides teaching, Ms. Lerissa has been part of various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities organized by the Department. She likes travelling, art and craft, and reading.

Ms. Shannon Dielle Saldanha is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, celebrated for her significant contributions to academia through various research presentations and publications in UGC CARE List Group I journals. Her work has been recognized internationally, with her research paper titled “Practicing Ethical Education: A Teacher’s Perspective” achieving an international citation in a prominent social science and education journal. Actively engaged in state-level geography teachers’ curriculum interface workshops, she is dedicated to enhancing geography education through her insightful lectures and curriculum development efforts. Beyond her professional pursuits, she enjoys exploring new places, listening to music, and is proficient with various technological software’s, blending her academic expertise with modern, tech-savvy approaches.
