The Department of Computer Applications was established in the year 2001 with the launch of the Bachelor of Computer Applications Programme. The BCA programme is a three year self financed integrated degree programme affiliated to the Goa University. The objective of the BCA programme is to produce employable IT workforce that will have sound knowledge of IT and business fundamentals that can be applied to develop and customize solutions for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s).

A committed teacher teaching a wide range of undergraduate(BCA) papers and has also taught postgraduate(IGNOU-MCA) papers. Her research interests span HUIM, optimisation algorithms, and Generative AI. She has published and presented multiple research papers in Scopus-indexed Springer volumes and at international conferences, including Minor Research Project for GIPARD, Goa. In addition, guided impactful student projects, in web and app development, ML, IoT, blockchain, and related technologies. The ‘Greenhouse Monitoring and Controlling System’, received special recognition at the Kalpak Event, DHE Goa. She has actively contributed to curriculum design and development as a member of the BoS, Goa University(2015–2018), the Curriculum Development Committees (NEP and CBCS), and the Academic Audit Committee for the BCA Programme. At Rosary College, she has served as Programme Coordinator (BCA), Academic Coordinator, Cultural Coordinator, Member of NAAC and IQAC, Examination Committee and RC Coordinator for IIT Bombay (Reg. no. 1571). Her professional qualifications were upgraded through orientation, refresher programmes, and certifications(CST E-Level, Linux, Oracle (PL/SQL, Java), NPTEL IoT(Elite+Silver honours). She has delivered workshops and training sessions for teachers, focusing on AI integration in modern classrooms as a resource person for schools and HSS in Goa.

Ms. Anvi Naik is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Applications. She has taught various subjects like Web Technology, Logic design, data Structures, operating systems, etc. She has published a research paper in the journal International Conference on recent Trends, Emerging issues in Science, Engineering and Technology-2017. Her areas of interest include Natural language processing, data structures and data mining. She is a quick learner and has good interpersonal skills. She likes to read and keep herself updated about the recent trends in technology.

Mrs. Rajlakshmi Metri is working as an Asst. Professor in the Department of Computer Application of Rosary College since 2011. She has been in several college committees over the years. She has conducted number of seminars / workshops for students and has also participated in various Faculty Development Programmes. She was instrumental in framing the syllabi for the CBCS curriculum under Goa University and has also guided undergraduate projects.’. She keeps updating herself with the latest knowledge in her discipline and likes to interact with the students on various topics. Her areas of interest include Object Oriented Concepts, Python and Internet of Things.

Ms. Sonia Mashal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Applications. Presently, she is the Convenor of SWAYAM and MOOCS online courses provided in the College and was also involved in restructuring of the syllabus for the Computer Applications course under CBCS at Goa University.

Asst. Prof. Nagaratna Naik has completed her Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and brings with her a wealth of experience, having dedicated 10 plus years to teaching in various BCA and degree colleges across Goa. In addition to her extensive teaching career, she has served as a Management Information Systems (MIS) Specialist in the Water Resources Department of the Government of Goa. Her areas of interest include Cyber Security, Multimedia, Web Design, and other application-based IT subjects. Professor Naik is committed to continuous professional development, having attended various Faculty Development Programs focused on AI tools. She actively encourages her students to embrace these advancements, guiding them to leverage such tools for a productive life. With a keen interest in training students to learn emerging technologies, she is passionate about preparing them for the AI era.

Prof. Sharayu Yeshwant Ghatwal completed her Master of Commerce with a specialization in Accounting and Finance from Goa Business School, Goa University, and her Bachelor of Commerce from Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, where she secured First Rank in the college and Second Rank in the State of Goa. Her academic interests include Accounting, Finance and Marketing. She currently engages lectures in the subjects of Fundamentals of Stock Market, Business Ethics and Governance, Fundamentals of Event Management, and Marketing for Beginners. Beyond academics, she enjoys travelling, drawing, painting and craft activities.
